Three 18 year old Webster County residents were booked into the Central Regional Jail at 2:55 a.m. Sunday morning on felony drug charges.
Dylan Lee Canada, age 18, Dustin Wade Perrine, age 18, and Samantha Dora Jean Skidmore, age 18, were each charged with the felony crimes of Operating or Attempting to Operate a Clandestine Drug Laboratory and Conspiracy.
According to information contained on the criminal complaints filed against the three, the West Virginia State Police received a tip that meth was being made at the Circle Brooke Manor Apartments in Cowen. After receiving permission to enter and search an apartment, police found items commonly used to make meth, and the complaint alleges that all three defendants admitted to purchasing some of the meth ingredients with the intent to make meth.
Magistrate Richard Robertson set bail at $100,000.00 for each of the three defendants.
If convicted, each faces a prison term of not less than two but not more than ten years of the Drug Lab charge and not less than one but not more than five years on the Conspiracy charge.

An arrest is not an indication of a person's guilt, but is merely an allegation made by a law enforcement officer based on probable cause that a person may have committed an offense.

I am hear to tell you that we have to get a handle on this problem, to many lives lost, too much heartbreak. I wish people would stop being to judgmental about addicts. Its not like every single person who breathes is not susceptible to addiction of some kind. Instead of being so critical for crying out loud, how about praying for these kids, adults and their families!
ReplyDeletesomeone needs to clean up circle brooke manor. that place has a meth lab in every building. its a shame too. that place was built for families to have a place to live until they get on their feet. but instead it is now a place for teenage girls who forgot what birth control was for to sit back, draw welfare and move in yet another guy and have more kids. truthfully it needs condemed due to the amount of meth labs in it. the sandbox is full of needles and the babies are living in this squalor! and let me tell you...EVERY single apartment down there that has kids in it is infested with dope! what a shame....this is not what government housing is for!

DeleteI agree with you Tina Cogar. This is very sad and causes heartbreak in so many ways. Lives are at risk and sin is abounding. Satan is trying to destroy. We do need to pray!!!

ReplyDeletecompassion? ill tell you who i have compassion for....the ones who are TRYING to better their lives and then have to go to sleep at night worrying about the apartment next to them blowing up! everyone down there had the same opportunities in life as the rest of us. most of them live there because they got pregnant too young and no matter what you say yes....i happen to know there are alot of drugs in circle brooke, and i agree that MOST of the young people down there do one type of drug or another. they need to do something to better themselves before its too late and cps gets their kids and they end up in jail or worse....dead. im not being a hypocrite, im speaking from experience. once again not putting anybody down just hoping what happened to me does NOT happen to anyone else! Karma took its turn with me and it is not fun. im not against the occasional buzz but when it comes to the point where you live in gov apartments then cheat the system by moving a non working felon boyfriend in with you and you begin to cook and sell drugs at the risk of blowing up yourself and others, there is just no excuse for that! like i said everyone was afforded the same opportunities in life, i didnt use mine to the fullest extent but i hope these young people do.

Help them to find a personal relationship with Christ and come to understand that His love and the love of his followers is strong enough to break the slave like hold that addiction has on a person. ReplyDeleteI am by no means condoning these kids or their actions, but to be honest the system is as much to blame as anyone. These apartments were to provide housing for the elderly, disabled, ect. but instead more of the apartments are occupied by young women who are old enough to work & know what birth control is & how to obtain it. They sneak in men who don't work & are looking for a free ride. It just breeds problems. There needs to be stricter policies on getting into these apartments & there needs to be MANDATORY drug tests for anyone who is trying to apply for government housing, benefits, ect. I have no problem working & paying taxes to help someone who is trying to help themselves or who is disabled or old & can't work any more, but I think it is BS to be taxed to support people who have decided to sit on their butts & do dope all the time! The only way this will ever change is if the system changes! Life is not easy for anyone, but that doesn't give people the right to sit on their butts doped out of their minds trying to avoid reality! It also doesn't give women the right to have a bunch of kids & them expect the state (taxpayers) to support them. If you can't SUPPORT yourself, then why in the world would you bring a child into this world to begin with??? That is so irresponsible!!! I can understand a woman being home with her kids when they are young, but once they are school aged then the woman needs to be getting a job, even if it is only part time! As for these men that get out here & help make all these kids, they need to know that one way or another they WILL be held accountable to help support them! Let them either work & pay their child support or put their butts in jail & make them work there, instead of laying on their butts playing cards & video games!

Its much easier to run a meth lab in a house than a tiny apartment. My guess is you guys are ignorant and judgemental. DRUGS ARE EVERYWHERE NOT JUST CIRCLE BROOKE AND MORE PEOPLE WITH JOBS ARE JUST AS BAD OFF ON DRUGS. So quit stereotype'n one location.
