Old GoMart to be Sold; Mayor Hopes for Bank Branch Office

According to Webster Springs Mayor Donnie McCourt, the old GoMart store on Main Street will be listed for sale by the GoMart Corporation soon. In the meantime, GoMart has already removed the old gas pumps and awning over the pumps. Mayor McCourt said he believes GoMart will also be digging up the underground fuel tanks soon. The Mayor said he will be contacting certain banks to see if they are interested in buying the property for a branch office.

  1. Hope it's not a bank branch. Webster could use something in here better than that. Here's the opportunity to do so.

  2. Hate to see that GoMart leave. One of my fondest memories was seeing an "Out of Town-er" leave with the Hose from the Gas Pump still attached to his truck.

  3. Great!!! We need another bank. United is to hard to deal with-act like the money is coming from their personal pockets!!!

  4. Fear not about driving away with a gas hose still attached to your truck, the new GoMart store on Baker's Island has 10 pumps to chose from to repeat that memory again.

  5. I beleive there is alot of other businesses we could use better than a branch bank. Let alone what that would do to our bank. Where does he get these ideas??#$%??

  7. There are two here now that serve a 9000 person county. No need for another. They wouldnt make any money because there isnt enough business here to warrant the start up/operating costs. Scratch the bank idea and try to recruit something that is needed.

  9. Premier Bank would be a big asset to the community. There are several county residents that are now using Premier Bank out of Buckhannon and Rock Cave. If those people had access to a branch in Webster Springs, it would help out community members in a major way. With that said, I hope that he contacts them. I use Premier Bank and they offer excellent services to each and every one of their customers and new-comers.

    Just a thought!
