Retiring WV Supreme Court Judge says Court was Busy with Child Abuse & Neglect Cases

Justice Thomas McHugh
In an interview with the Charleston Daily Mail, retiring West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals Justice Thomas McHugh said that the Court has been very busy with child abuse and neglect cases.

McHugh's comments are certainly no surprise to folks in Webster County. As previously reported by the Commentator, in 2012, the Supreme Court decided 12 cases just from Webster County. It is hard to imagine how many other such cases were decided from the State's 54 other counties.

  1. Kids are not the top priority anymore. They are pushed around like chess pieces from home to home by order of judges. Most of the time they end up somewhere worse than they were in the begining or just as bad. This poses the question, do these in athority know anything about the wel being of kids?

  2. agreed. too many kids are being taken for minor things and rights terminated too soon in the game. the ones that are taking children are guilty of most of the same things the parents are! i know former cps workers that quit because of the corruption and scandal in that office and courthouse. why an investigation hasnt been started on this county i do not know. they are basically selling babies and charleston upholds them!
