599 Voters Cast Early Ballots in Webster County

According to the Webster County Clerk's office, a total of 599 voters cast their ballots in early voting at the Webster Courthouse.

Based on vote totals from past primary presidential elections, the 599 Webster County ballots amounts to about one quarter of the total number of votes expected to be tallied on election night.  Statewide, the early vote totals are substantially higher.  According to the Secretary of State's website, 100,962 ballots were cast in 2016 in early voting, an all time record.  In the last presidential primary election in 2012, a total of only 57,553 ballots were cast (and 65,845 in 2008).

Polls close at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10.  The Commentator will post local election results as they come in and will have several major projections for the County.
