Local Lawyer Suspended 60 Days

The West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals suspended a local Webster County lawyer for 60 days from the practice of law, ordered him to be supervised for 18 months, to pay restitution within 24 months in an amount believed to be in excess of $47,000.00, and issued other sanctions.

Legal counsel for the West Virginia State Bar disciplinary committee had sought a longer suspension, so this decision could be construed as a small victory for the lawyer.
